Ridge in Contrast

Dark timber draws the rooms together; warm light keeps them open.

At Toa Payoh Ridge, dark timber is used less as a finish and more as an organising device — framing the entrance, storage, display and dining areas in one consistent language.

Warm linear light lifts the deeper surfaces, while pale flooring and soft upholstery keep the home from feeling heavy. A carefully composed display wall gives the owners’ collection a place within everyday view.

Sliding and full-height built-ins make transitions work harder, allowing the plan to remain open where it matters and contained where it needs to be.

( A design thought )

“Storage can hold objects and still shape the atmosphere.”

Dark cabinetry frames circulation and display in the same gesture, giving personal collections a deliberate place within the home.
