Retro Revival
Old-school spirit, made comfortable for now.
On the third floor of a Lavender shophouse, a retro vocabulary gives the home character connected to its neighbourhood and original bones.
Warm timber, classic textures and confident muted colours recall mid-century rooms and local cafés. Quirky built-ins, custom carpentry and retro lighting add personality without giving up practical planning.
The existing structure remains part of the story. New layers bring modern comfort, but the shophouse is still allowed to feel storied, tactile and imperfect.
( A design thought )
“The best retro spaces remember the feeling, not just the look.”
The shophouse leads; timber and practical new interventions add a layer without erasing its past.
